Need for Telemedical Abortion Services in Indonesia and Malaysia: Study on Women on Web

Women on Web analyzed data from women who contacted the service in 2015 to explore the need for online access to safe abortion in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Key findings:
👆 In 2015, the Women on Web website received 355,004 visitors from Indonesia and 33,781 visitors from Malaysia in 2015. Of those, 1.989 women from Indonesia and 1.109 from Malaysia continued to request online abortion access.
🌍 The figure shows that there is a big need of information and access to safe medical abortion in Indonesia and Malaysia.
💊 The restrictive abortion law in Indonesia and Malaysia doesn’t prevent any abortion.
The figures show that in the face of restricted abortion access there is a high need for information and access to safe medical abortion in Indonesia and Malaysia.
