Our Strategy

Starting in 2025, this strategy is our compass for the next five years and the future ahead.

Women on Web was founded in 2005, launching the world’s first international online telemedicine abortion service. What began as a small online initiative, answering just a few hundred emails per month, quickly grew into a global operation, supporting thousands of people seeking abortion care every month.

Over time, our model of care has evolved, from physician-led and supervised to a demedicalized, community-based, and person-centered approach that prioritizes autonomy over medical gatekeeping. We center abortion knowledge and practice within feminist and community narratives, with radical trust in individuals’ agency.

Our new Five-Year Strategy reflects how far we’ve come, capturing the evolution of our work and setting a direction toward a more accessible, equitable, and self-managed future for abortion care.
