US groups try to influence the limit of access to Abortion Worldwide

Fundamental religious groups in the US seek to expand their anti-choice agenda across borders, superimposing their ideologies and desire for control over womens' reproductive rights on a global scale.

According to Christina Page, author of "The world in their sights: Flushed with success, the US anti-abortion movement is radically
expanding its goals," an article published in th Guardian on April 18th, 2006, fundamental right-wing pro-life groups are gloating in their sucess' of increasing limitations on women's access to abortion in the US, and, as a result, are now setting their goals on countries outside of the US.

Page writes that most international efforts to limit access to abortion and contraceptives are based int the US, and she reveals that, "The US movement is using the UK Life League to carry out intimidation campaigns of British abortion providers. One tactic is to get members of US anti-abortion groups to send thousands of hostile emails to specific British clinics and doctors. Another US group, Human Life International, claims to be "the international pro-life movement"; it has offices in 51 countries. The Abstinence Clearinghouse, another US organisation, has campaigns under way in the most Aids-ravaged countries in Africa. Its mission? To discourage use of the condom."

It is up to people like us, who believe women should have control over their own reproductive rights to stop this from spreading further. US groups have meddled in far too much of the world's affairs and when it comes to meddling with the countries who do provide access to abortion, sex education and access to contraceptives- this goes too far!!!
