임신 기간이 얼마나 진행되었는지 어떻게 알 수 있나요?

아직 테스터기로 임신 여부를 검사를 하지 않았다면, 먼저 테스터기를 써보시기 바랍니다. 이미 임신 여부를 확신하고 있더라도, 확정하는게 좋습니다.

마지막 생리 시작일(LMP)로부터 몇 주가 지났는지 세어보면 임신 주수를 추정할 수 있습니다. 달력이나 임신 주수 계산기를 이용해 확인할 수 있습니다.

참고: 임신 시작일은 성관계 날짜나 임신이 착상됐을 거라고 생각되는 날이 아닌, 마지막 생리 첫날부터 계산해야 합니다.

다음과 같은 경우에는 초음파 검사를 이용해 임신 기간을 확인하는게 좋습니다:

• 지난 3번의 생리 주기가 불규칙한 경우
• 모유 수유 중이며 아직 생리가 돌아오지 않은 경우
• 호르몬 피임법을 사용하는 경우.(피임약, 패치, 링, 주사, 임플란트, 호르몬 자궁 내 장치(IUD)를 의미함)

생리 주기가 규칙적이라면, 임신중지약 복약 전에 초음파 검사가 필요하지 않습니다.

초음파 검사는 생리 주기를 놓친 날로부터 일주일 후 부터 자궁 내 임신이 된 것을 확인할 수 있습니다. 자궁 밖에 임신이 된 경우를 자궁외임신이라고 합니다.자궁외임신은 생존 불가능한 임신으로 치료를 하지 않으면 위험합니다. 반드시 긴급한 의료 처치가 필요합니다. 자궁외임신에는 임신중지약이 효과가 없습니다. 그러나 자궁외임신은 매우 드물며 전체 임신의 1% 미만에서 발생합니다.
