Abortion methods
There are two ways to do an abortion: with vaccuum aspiration or a medical abortion with Mifepriston and Misoprostol (to obtain these go to www.womenonweb.org/article-174-en.html) or Misoprostol alone. A vaccuum aspiration has to be done by a trained healthcare provider. A medical abortion can be done at home by the woman herself (for instructions how to use go to www.womenonwaves.org/set-1020.191-en.html). Discuss here the diferences in experience, safety and availability.

Record 10,000 have home abortions in England
Reported by the BBC on Monday, 29 May 200
The British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) said nearly a third of the
32,000 terminations it provided to women in the first nine weeks of
pregnancy had involved the abortion pill, also known as EMA - early
medical abortion. Research by the Department of Health has found it is safe, and
supporters say it can provide greater comfort and privacy.
Published in Nursing Standard report by BBC, 15 February 2006 "Women less than nine weeks pregnant can safely have the medical abortion outside hospital, the Department of Health backed project found. None of the 172 women, who took tablets supervised by a nurse in a health centre, suffered serious complications, Nursing Standard reported." More evidence again in support of Women on Web. More women should be allowed to take the medicines at home and they should become available in the regular pharmacies.
