Are you sure you cannot have an ultrasound?

An ultrasound is important because it can determine the length of a pregnancy. It is important to get an accurate estimate because a medical abortion should only be done in the first 9 weeks of a pregnancy.

An ultrasound can also diagnose an ectopic pregnancy. An ectopic pregnancy occurs when the fetus develops outside of the womb, in the fallopian tube. The fallopian tube connects the ovary, where the eggs are stored, to the womb, where a fetus grows. If left untreated, an ectopic pregnancy could cause your fallopian tube to burst, leading to heavy internal bleeding. Treatment of an ectopic pregancy is necessary to protect the health of the woman. Gynaecologists treat women for this condition in all countries, even in countries where abortion is illegal.

A medical abortion cannot cure an ectopic pregnancy. If there is a possibility of an ectopic pregnancy, you should not do the medical abortion treatment.
