I live in Ecuador, I will not tell my name for obvious reasons...
I am 23 years old. Four tree weeks ago i discovered i got pregnant... I know there are many women around the world who had felt like i felt... I needed help, my conditions are not the best for having a baby now!!! we used condom but it failed. I couldn´t even believe this was happening to me. I found Women on Waves on the internet, it gave me everything i needed to do an abortion without risking my life on illegal clinics (I have heard lots of that stories and i wished i had not to be one more! but i still keep it as a desperate and last option).
An ultrasound showed that i had less than 5 weeks, so i could use misoprostol, it was hard to found it because you need medical prescription... but finally i could buy it.
I used it as it´s described in the web page. Three friends knew my situation in case i would need some extra help.
I did this exactly one week ago and today i went to a doctor and another ultrasound showed my pregnancy has ended (of course i didn´t tell i used misoprostol). I breath again!!! I can not believe i could manage this without living that horrible experience of illegal surgical abortion. I will continue my studies (i have 1 1/2 year in the university left) and i have no words to show my thalkfulness and support to the Women on Waves organization.
